I love the look of subway art. Lately, I have been seeing it everywhere. I've been wanting to do something like this for my home, but I just didn't know exactly what. This afternoon while I was relaxing, enjoying the sun out on my balcony, overlooking the San Diego Bay in 75 degree weather (maybe I should of left that part out, sorry Kentucky. ). I came across this. Yep, pretty awesome! I'm not sure what the final product will be, but it will be similar to this. I love the names, and the colors. I love that I can have personalized art. These are the names of the Eliason side of my family. Starting with my grandparents, Frank and Gertrude, all the way down to their great-grand kids. I'm going to print it BIG. Again, not sure how big or what exactly, but this will soon be displayed in my humble abode. :)

Names and sisters
Hi! Meet Sydnee and Savannah. Two Beautiful girls named after two beautiful cities. So I've been told. I've been to a lot of places, but neither of those. Actually, Savannah is named after a character in a book series called "The work and the glory". Wonderful series. One of my favorites. Anyways, my sister Jenny and I fell in love with the name. Jenny was pregnant at the time, but did not know what she was having just yet. Well she decided that if she had a girl she was going to name her Savannah. Not knowing that I had already decided that when I had a little girl I was going to name my little girl Savannah. Needless to say we both couldn't have the name. I tried to pull rank and say that I was older, didn't work. I tried to say that I read the book first, didn't work. I prayed that she would have a boy, nope, that didn't work either. Finally, our Dad stepped in and settled it for us. See while we were fighting over the name, we were also fighting over a doll house that our grandfather had built for us when we were kids. So, whoever had a girl first could have the name. Whoever didn't get the name got to keep the doll house.
Hi! Meet Korah Grace. She has an awesome doll house that was made by her great-grandfather.

Flash-back Friday
This is my baby sister Annie. Also the man she decided to spend the rest of eternity with, (lucky fellow). These two. I tell ya, they are one cute couple. He adores her. She adores him. Isn't that how it's supposed to be? This picture was taken in may of 2009. She was barely pregnant with their first baby. Baby Will as he is affectionately known. My favorite thing about this picture is how happy she is starting this new journey, adventure if you want to call it so. A wise person told me recently (okay it was an ad in a magazine) that Happiness is not a station, it's a way of Travelling. I really love that quote. I do believe I'm going to make it my theme for the year. Yep, another one of those resolutions. Anyways, Annie and Wade, happy travels and I can't wait to take another picture just like this in 50 years!

daddy's girl
They say little girl's can wrap their daddy's around their little finger...
I think this one has him wrapped around her heart.

New year, new blog
As usual I start again. My list of resolutions is small this year with one of the main things being to simplify. Not try to do it all. Focus on a few things and really make them great. Document my families special moments, and even the not so special. I have always enjoyed journaling, scrapbooking and photography and this is a way for me to bring it all together. I am working on a "project 365" book for the year. I want to remember the small moments in our lives not just big events and that is what it will do. It's a picture a day of anything, yes anything. A lot of the pictures wont mean anything to any one else. However, hopefully when the kids look back at it they will be able to remember these small, simple moments.
