At least there's Jerry

In my home with a 4 1/2 year old we have more than our fair share of wrestling matches, most of which end up with either of us pretending to be "knocked out" or "dead" at some point.  So, yesterday during my turn of playing dead the bean starts pounding on my chest.  I can't help but chuckle and ask
"What are you doing"  knowing he's doing CPR.  He replies  "PRC".  I chuckle and with a touch of pride ask him where he learned how to do that.  "mommy" he says "the mouse teached me".  I sit up now because the PRC has obviously worked and bewildered ask "what mouse?".  "You know, the one on tv."  "Mickey?"  I ask.  "Nooohhh,  him not know PRC.  Jerry knows PRC."  Now I'm still not getting it, but knowing my child there is no telling where he is going with this.  So, bravely I ask "who's Jerry?".   "Mommy, you know, him gets chased by the cat".  Okay I got it now "do you mean Tom and Jerry?".  "Yes him.  Him the mouse teached me.".  Well alright then, there ya go, and since I can't be the one to teach them everything, thankfully, there's Jerry to help.

My "older" sis

This, is my sister Jenny. She is only about a year younger than me. All right a year and a half younger but, at our age who's counting. Actually when her kids were younger I convinced them that I was younger than her and that she was the oldest sister. My logic on that one was she had 3 kids, I didn't have any and there fore she had to be older. They bought it, Hook, Line and Sinker!! After she threatened them with groundings, stingers and other inhumane things they told her they didn't believe me. However, they really still did. Shhh, don't tell her they still think she's older! Just look how her hubby adores her. Love that.

She has one of the custest families ever. Yes, those are all hers. No, the neighbor kids did not sneak in the picture, and yes, you are counting correctly 5!!

She is kind, loving, helpful, smart, friendly, faithful, honest, patient, gracious, and fun! I am lucky I have her as a sister. Blessed that I have her as a best friend. I love you Jen!

new blog

Now that I'm back to blogging I decided to start a new one for our family. I will still keep the old one, however I'm going to be using that one for something different. more on that later.

Kiffen and Tanner are in Texas trying to pu a plane that he bought in California a few weeks ago. He then got stuck in weather and had to leave it in Texas. The weather is CRAZY this year, so hopefully they'll make it back soon. Korah and I have been having a ball. We have been catching up on all of the unfinished projects I have going on. She is definitely going to be a crafter.

-Last week was our 11th anniversary. yeah, that 's a long time. We had the in-laws watch the kidlets and we went and saw Avatar. Good show.
Happy Valentines Day,

Grateful

Here I sit in Little Rock, Arkansas. Homesick. Missing my kids. Missing my bed. Missing the Mr. Jones in my life. It's the nature of the beast with my job. Don't get me wrong I'm grateful I have this job when so many are hurting right now. I'm grateful I am able to help and share duties with my husband. I'm grateful Mr. Jones shares duties with me. I'm grateful that the spaghetti o's the kiddies had for dinner were warm, and filling and as the bean told me "not yummy as yours". I'm grateful I'm missed. I'm grateful.

pray for our leaders

Wow. The people have voted. We have a new president. Barack Husein Obama. His message of Hope and Change really has people excited. I worked a few flights in and out of Baltimore, Md the last few days. They were all full of people going to the inauguration (we actually ran out of bin space because of the fur coats). Although he didn't get my vote for personal reasons I am still excited to see what is going to happen in this country over the next several years. I am excited to watch his wife Michelle Obama, and especially his girls Sasha and Malia. They seem like such a kind, warm and loving family. A lot of people are worried about where he will lead our country. Me, not so much. I hope he will make decisions and choices with a fathers mind. He knows that he is helping to create the real life that will become his children's adulthood. With that said, I will pray for them, all of them.

Happy new year...broken resolutions

Happy new year to all. As with every year I go ahead and make new resolutions that will improve my life or my families. Yesterday morning I sat at breakfast and actually wrote down a list of 10 things that I am going to change or work on doing better. Number 8 was to blog everyday even if it was something little. The hope was I would find something worthwhile to journal about that myself or the kiddos would want to look back on someday and read. Since today is actually the 2nd day of the year I'll use the excuse that I was working on the other 7 items ahead of this one and just ran out of time. The truth is that is pretty much the truth. Number 5 or 6 on my list is not to procrastinate and to finish unfinished items on my to do list. I decided to work on those last night and set up a facebook page for uncle Wayne. My dad asked me to do this a couple of weeks ago so the family could get updates and keep in touch with each other and leave notes of encouragement for him. I can now say that I have finished one task on my to do list with only about 364 left to do. So even though it is 5:00 am on day 2 of the year and technically this resolution is broken. I don't think so. See by finishing something else and accomplishing something on day one it gave me something to write about that I will be glad to look back on and read. By the way Number 3 is to not be so hard on myself and to always try to look at the positive side of things. Check.
